Raaj Amin, MD

Dr. Amin was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and grew in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He first experienced North Carolina when he attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem for college. After graduating, he returned to Pennsylvania to attend medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia. For his pediatric residency, he trained at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. After a one year stint in Clemson, South Carolina, he moved to Wilmington in 2002 and has been practicing primary care pediatrics since that time. In Wilmington, he met his wife Andrea. They have 2 daughters, Lillian and Eliza.

Message from Dr. Amin:

I was born the youngest of 4 children (and the only son) to parents who were the first people in their families to live in the United States.  My father moved to the US from India and worked as a chemical engineer.  My mother moved to the US from the Philippines and worked as a nurse.  The stories that my mother shared about providing medical care steered me towards a career in medicine.  During medical school, I was drawn to pediatrics because it focused on providing patients and their parents the skills to promote a lifetime of healthier living.  I look forward to fostering these abilities for the next generation of patients and parents.
